The Three Lions will take on Nigeria at Wembley on June 2 and then Costa Rica at Elland Road five days later before heading off for the tournament in Russian Federation.

At Russia 2018, while the Eagles play Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D, England are up against Belgium, Panama and Tunisia in Group G.

England have confirmed a friendly against Nigeria scheduled for June 2, ahead of Russian Federation 2018 World Cup.

The Three Lions's first game in Russian Federation will be against Tunisia on 18 June.

England have met Nigeria on two previous occasions with a 1-0 victory at Wembley in 1994 and a goalless draw at the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan.

England, meanwhile, will discover their opponents in the inaugural UEFA Nations League when the draw is made for the tournament in Lausanne, Switzerland, on January 24.

Rohr told the nff.com official website:"This is good news for myself and the entire team". We had been doing a lot of work in the background, even going back to a year ago.

"We are happy to say that it is all sealed. It's nice when we have an opportunity to take the team on the road". England are very strong now and I believe they will give us a very good match.

Akinwunmi added that the NFF made a decision to be strategic in its choice of opponents for the Super Eagles leading to the World Cup.

Speaking about the two games, England's manager, Gareth Southgate, said, "We are going into a World Cup where we will play African and Central American opposition, so we get that with the games against Nigeria and Costa Rica". That is why we opted for England.

England will prepare for the World Cup with friendlies against Nigeria and Costa Rica before flying to Russian Federation.
