FC Barcelona are making utmost use of the winter transfer window as after signing the star midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, the Catalan club have now signed Colombian defender Yerry Mina on a five-and-a-half-year contract.

After applauding the fans and posing for pictures, the 23-year-old took off his boots and socks before stepping onto the pitch for the first time.

"I have come to learn a lot and win big trophies", Mina said.

"They are the best players in the world and I look forward to achieving our objectives and winning titles together".

"First, I must thank God for having offered me a partner like Marianela, Yerry's mother, and for giving us two wonderful children".

He explained: "There is a saying in my country that says, 'Touch the land you want to conquer with the sole of your feet.' And here I want to make history with everyone".

"I am very happy to be fulfilling a dream for which I have always worked and fought. This is a great club and since arriving you can feel the atmosphere here". Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen are all firmly ahead of the Colombian in the pecking order. And the report says that is where Valverde's secret signing will come in. "I have to do things well and fit well in the group".
