Gimple's new post will have him overseeing the flagship show, "Fear the Walking Dead" and "potential brand extensions on a variety of platforms", per AMC.

The Walking Dead's season eight, mid-season finale drew almost 8 million viewers in live plus same day ratings.

"I am beyond thrilled to be stepping into this new role with 'The Walking Dead.' Working on this series and having the opportunity to adapt Robert Kirkman's fantastic comic has been a fangirl dream come true for me", said Kang. But with a smash like "The Walking Dead" comes pressure to capitalize on that success by offering strong companion series. The new season will continue the apocalyptic adventures of the Clark family and, as previously announced, the first character from The Walking Dead, Morgan Jones (Lennie James), will join the cast.

In addition, AMC has announced that McMafia, its new global thriller based on Misha Glenny's best-selling book of the same name, will arrive on Monday, Feb. 26 at 10/9c.

"I am beyond thrilled to be stepping into this new role with The Walking Dead", she said. The spinoff series will return for season four on Sunday, April 15 at 10:00 p.m. before moving to its normal time slot of 9:00 p.m. on Sundays beginning April 22.

A week after the Fear the Walking Dead premiere, Into the Badlands returns for its third season on April 22 in the 10/9c slot on Sundays. "I'm excited to continue working with Scott and the wonderfully supportive folks at AMC, and can't wait to share the next chapter of the story with our fans next fall". Titled "How It's Gotta Be", the super-sized episode failed to leave much of an impression on viewers, with most fans questioning the need to kill off Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), a mainstay of The Walking Dead since its inception. They totally have to, right? In partnership with Next Games, AMC has launched a successful mobile game "The Walking Dead: No Man's Land" and a new location-based augmented reality game, "The Walking Dead: Our World", set to launch globally early this year. If you were, lol why?!

The second half of The Walking Dead Season 8 debuts February 25. Three new shows in that vein are the social satire "Dietland", "Lodge 49", a look at disenfranchised men who are members of a social club, and the deep-sea mystery "The Terror".
