This Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set announced for Japan is rather cool

For everyone else, the Dark Souls Remaster is being done up in the same engine as the third game, and will be launching on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch near the end of March.

As it is the case with such rumors, the news spread like wildfire and the PC community celebrated it, until a recent article by PCGamer confirmed through an official source from Bandai Namco that there is no discount for owners of the original Dark Souls. It's finally happening, and it is certainly glorious. Apart from that huge news though, From Software announced the existence of a Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set, which will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4. The Switch version of the game will come with the Artorias of the Abyss downloadable content, as well as improved framerate and resolution. The Nintendo Switch version will, however, run at 1080p and 30fps. That could rely on how well the Switch version of Dark Souls: Remastered sells, but that's just speculation on my part.

"DARK SOULS: REMASTERED delivers the same great gameplay, online mechanics, and environmental storytelling that has inspired countless game players and developers", said Kasumi Yogi, Associate Brand Manager for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. The Switch's GPU is created to give games a much brighter and more vibrant look compared to the PS4 and Xbox One counterparts, so it will be interesting to see how a game as dark as Dark Souls looks on the Switch when it arrives on May 25th.
