Kaalakaandi stars Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Oberoi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raaz, Neil Bhoopalam and Shenaz Treasury and is a story of one night in the city of Mumbai. Interestingly, nearly all actors who starred in the film disowned it.

Having been a part of the first and second film, it came to a surprise when reports went around stating Saif Ali Khan wouldn't be a part of the third "Race" film. Saif was seen in the period drama, Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, and Raja Krishna Menon's remake of Jon Favreau's Chef.

Going by the promotional videos and songs of Kaalakaandi, however, Saif seems to be the Go Goa Gone zone - quirky and experimental. The movie is directed and written by Akshat Verma and is produced by Rohit Khattar and Ashi Dua. This film could have been much, much better if Akshat had only concentrated on Rileen's life.

Admitting that he was laughing like anything throughout the film, Aamir wrote, "Kaalakandi is one (of) the funniest films I have seen in a long time". The name of Saif's film "Kaalakandi" is Marathi slang for things went horribly wrong.

He said: "I am scared for all because when films release, you do get a little scared". And it is not really possible to elicit a certain kind of reaction. "If I get offered one, I will take it, but I will ask for a lot of money", he guffaws. I need to connect with my project, much like what I expect from the audience.

With an influx of content flooding the market, "Kaalakaandi" is a film that can be watched with friends who want to indulge in a good laugh.
