You can even play as Jyn Erso or Director Krennic from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Star Wars: Rivals is being marketed as "the first real-time Star Wars competitive action shooter for mobile devices", and as someone that hasn't been all that interested in previous Star Wars mobile games, this might be the first to get my attention.

Disney and Lucasfilm has announced the upcoming Star Wars: Rivals, a third person shooter featuring your favourite characters from the franchise.

Players will battle it out in familiar surroundings like the Death Star and Jakku. However, in order to have a solid team of heroes, you'll have to unlock them.

As the name of the game suggests, having rivals fight will earn players extra battle points. We've seen mentions of new characters like Finn and Phasma, as well as classics like Han, Luke, Leia, Vader, and Chewie from the original. Players can destroy their opponents with powerful weapons such as Chewbacca's bowcaster, Han Solo's DL-44 blaster pistol, and Boba Fett's EE-3 carbine rifle. Master special abilities unique to the Star Wars universe like Darth Vaders Choke and Admiral Ackbars devastating Orbital Strike.

Battle in Familiar Star Wars Locations: Use cover, elevation, and destructible environments to your advantage as you take down rivals in PvP arenas across familiar environments that span multiple Star Wars eras including Bespin, Scarif, Jakku, and the Death Star. Apparently, the rarer a hero is, the better will perform in the arenas.

Star Wars: Rivals is available for pre-registration on Google Play now. You'll get exclusive access to death trooper support units.

Prepare to take on your Star Wars rivals…anywhere you go.

There is no shortage of Star Wars things these days, especially games, and it looks like we're getting yet another one for Android very soon.
