Petersburg company takes virtual reality headset camera to CES in Las Vegas

The show has been held in the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada ever since.

If CES is a success for the guys, the product could hit the market to create videos games, movies and shows and could even highlight Tampa Bay area tourism.

CES 2018 has become the first major event of the year to showcase the latest vehicle technology, too, and our sister title Auto Express will also be at the show bringing you the next-generation in motoring.

5G to march ahead- It will provide more than just speedy download speeds.

"A recent report from the Government Accountability Office found that 'there remains a persistent lack of racial, ethnic, and gender diversity in the technology workforce, '" CTA president and CEO Gary Shapiro and CES senior VP Karen Chupka wrote in their response to Gender Avenger founder Gina Glantz. It will be a prime focus of announcements from companies including Ericsson, Intel and Qualcomm. It also exhibits enormous potential in the business arena.

CES is historically home to technology advancements and prototypes from the likes of Google, Samsung and Silicon Valley start ups, however this year commercial road transport solutions aim to steal the show.

Apple plans to have the technology ready for its own augmented reality glasses by 2019, so that the device can be released by 2020.

But Amazon is leading the race to make software that can control other machines.

TVs still play a big part of the show, though the energy and excitement in Las Vegas this year is tilted toward smart speakers and intelligent connected devices and the powerful Silicon Valley companies whose technology powers them. CES is the biggest tradeshow of its type in the world - an annual showcase of the next generation of technology and devices.

The lights went out here shortly after 11 am on the second day of the show. For 2018, it's clear that trend is only getting bigger, especially now that Google has had a full year under its belt and a chance to push out another round of AI-powered devices.
