Pelosi continues to rip tax reform

The wealthy California lawmaker called legislation extending a $40 payroll tax cut in 2011 a "victory for all Americans" and attributed the accomplishment to "Obama's leadership".

"I think the Democrats are going to regret not having supported this", Ryan said.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is once again proving how out of touch she and her party are with average Americans.

"The five white guys I called them you know", Pelosi (D-Calif.) said her in weekly press briefing, drawing uncomfortable, forced laughs from the gallery.

"160 million Americans will continue to receive their payroll tax cut - almost $40 per paycheck in the pockets of the average family. When they get something like a $1000 bonus at Christmas time because of this tax cut, it's hardly crumbs", said the Speaker of the House.

"In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs that they are giving workers to kind of put the schmooze on is so pathetic".

Pelosi earlier this week suggested it was a mistake not to include minority representatives in the discussions.

The CEO is hoping the bonuses will encourage workers to stay with the company and resolve its turnover rate.

Today, in answer to a reporter's question about the growing number of companies giving bonuses to their workforce because of the tax bill, said that the bonuses were "insignificant crumbs". "But our experience has been that they will do dividends, do stock buybacks, and things like that".

Pelosi's comments came as many large companies have announced one-time bonuses for workers and pay increases as a result of the tax bill. For as little as $3, you can help us. We're not dependent on commercial or political support and we do not accept any government funding.
