Good news Pokemon trainers!

A new software update for the iPhone X, other iPhones and iPads is coming soon. "They will need to switch to a supported device to continue playing Pokemon GO".

According to developers and beta testers who now have access to the pre-release versions of iOS 11.2.5, the next iOS update will introduce a new audio news feature that will enable Siri to play daily news podcasts when asked about the latest news. While it did not offer details about upcoming changes or features, it did note that there will be improvements that older Apple iOS operating systems would not be able to handle. The most recent of these devices were released in 2013 so none of them are exactly new but for the thrifty few that use their smartphones until they're irreparable, this news may come as a disappointment. Pokemon GO developer Niantic has announced an upcoming update that will incorporate Apple's ARKit, resulting in a more polished augmented reality experience, but bar devices unable to run iOS 11 from playing the game. A list of affected devices with pictures and model numbers can be found on the game's help page. After this date, those using Apple devices that can not be upgraded to iOS 11 will not be able to access their Pokemon Go accounts or use PokeCoins or other items without switching to one of the supported devices on Niantic's. Apple may release it over the weekend or some time early next week. Hopefully, this new update to Pokemon GO is worth it.
