Ghalib Afzal greeted on success in 12th class exams

Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru's son Ghalib Afzal Guru has secured distinction in class 12th examination, the results of which were declared by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Thursday. He scored 94 marks in Environment Science, 89 in Chemistry, 87 in Physics, 85 in Biology and 86 Marks in General English.

Galib secured 88 per cent in the examination, the results for which were announced today. "It is the dream of my parents and family that I become a doctor and I will try to fulfill it", Galib said as quoted by The Indian Express. The 17-year-old also has a backup plan - preparing for civil services in case he can't clear the medical entrance examination.

His home at Doabgah outside the north-western town of Sopore was being visited by a large number of people to congratulate him and his mother Tabasum. Burhan Wani's death in an encounter with special forces had triggered a turmoil in the Valley, which went on for nine months.
