Windows 10's latest Insider preview build, 17074, was released late last night to Insiders in the Fast Ring.

It's probable that Microsoft will reschedule the 1607 retirement, however, as a previous extension to 1511 has that late-2015 feature upgrade receiving security and non-security updates until April 2018.

Microsoft also touted the relatively quick adoption rate of the Fall Creators Update, which has now reached more than 100 million devices.

Microsoft's latest Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is now officially available for all compatible devices, the company has announced.

Microsoft expands the list of devices and hardware configurations after the initial phase before distribution enters full availability, the final rollout phase.

Firms that want to update to the build, version 1709, can receive it from the week of January 22nd, when it will be available from Windows Update, Windows Update for Business, WSUS and the Volume Licensing Service Center. Those running Windows 10 with the older Anniversary Update or Creators Update and who use automatic updates will be sent a reminder that the Fall Creators Update is ready to install and asked to pick a time, with an option to defer the reminder until tomorrow. Tap on the Windows-key, type Windows Update and select the item from the list of results to open the updating interface on the Windows 10 machine.

Microsoft rolled out the Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 in October 2017 which that includes support for Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR).

I suggest that you create a full system backup before you install the update. If you haven't yet updated, simply click the Update Now button on the Software Download Site to manually update your device.

Windows 10 users and administrators can download the update using the Update Assistant as well. The build was released to Windows 10 users on Fast Ring with build number 17074.
