The film, produced by Cinestaan Film Company, Flying Unicorn Entertainment and Immoral Police, is slated to hit the screen on January 12, 2018.

One of the celebs is Aamir Khan. The Dangal actor laughed, not cried, after watching a movie. "Our job is to just make films", he said. Saif Ali's career is down the giant rabbit hole which indicates a non opening for Kaalakaandi. He took to his Twitter handle to appreciate the movie and the star cast.

"'Kaalakaandi" is one of the funniest films I have seen in a long time. Absolutely loved all the performances. When the trailer dropped for the film, everyone had high expectations from the film as the Indian audiences were finally getting a madcap entertainer on the lines of Delhi Belly after 7 years. "Proud of you. Don't miss this one guys, it releases tomorrow", is what Aamir signed off his review with.

Aamir had previously collaborated with Akshat Verma in 2011 "Delhi Belly". His nephew Imran Khan was featured in it. The name of Saif's film "Kaalakandi" is Marathi slang for things went horribly wrong. Delhi Belly has a cult status today and Kaalakaandi is the same genre of comedy. Decked up in a yellow furry coat with his hair tied in multiple ponytails and a gun in hand, the actor has won hearts with his role. Besides Saif in the lead role, the film also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberai, Isha Talwar, Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raz, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Shenaz Treasury, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalm in vital roles.

Talking about his film, the director told Hindustan Times, "You don't know the fate until the audience and the critics react to it".
