I Feel Like A Footballer Again- Diego Costa

I'm really happy to feel like a footballer again and play once more with Atletico Madrid.

Diego Costa did not wait long before he endeared himself to the Atletico Madrid faithful once more.

Having been forced by a Federation Internationale de Football Association transfer ban to sit out the first half of the season following his €66 million return from Chelsea last summer, Costa entered early in the second half and within five minutes had finished smartly at the near post from Juanfran's cross.

Spain striker Costa agreed a move back to Atletico from Premier League champions Chelsea in September but was unable to play for Diego Simeone's side until the new year due to the club's transfer ban.

But it nearly threatened to ruin his second debut after he injured his knee over-stretching to bag the third goal.

Atletico have welcomed the return of Diego Costa to the club after three and a half years spent at Chelsea.

However, Costa suffered a knock in the process after his knee was accidently stood on in the process of scoring and Atleti confirmed via a statement that he will be assessed again. It was very important for me.

The 29-year old striker came off the bench on 64 minutes to make his second debut for Atletico and scored their third goal just five minutes later, turning in a low cross. After being told last June by Blues manager Antonio Conte he wasn't part of the club's plans going forward, Costa seems like he's firmly part of Atleti's plans.

The second leg against third-tier Lleida Esportiu is on Tuesday, with Atletico hosting Getafe in the league on Saturday.
