Posing on the steps of Kensington Palace, Princess Charlotte wore a red and pink outfit: red pea coat, red shoes, red bow, all accented with a pink scarf and red-and-pink backpack.

"Whether they're a toddler starting nursery, a little one heading back to school, or a college student, we have luxury stationery essentials for everyone", the promotional message read, according to The Telegraph. And to prove just how big she's getting, Kate Middleton, 35, snapped two adorable photos of the tiny royal before she headed off to her very first day of nursery school on January 8.

Kensington Palace announced that Charlotte would be attending the nursery in late 2017 with the tweet: 'Their Royal Highnesses have also announced this morning that Princess Charlotte will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London from January 2018'.

Kensington Palace has shared two photos of little Princess Charlotte on her first day at nursery school. Prior to that, George attended Westacre, a local Montessori school near the family's country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.

George and Charlotte will gain a new sibling later this year. By then, she's expected to be her parents' middle child - her mother is pregnant with her third. The photo has been used on the Cambridges' Christmas card.
