Gabriel Jesus has posted an update on his nasty-looking injury suffered against Crystal Palace.

Manchester City have been dealt a blow after Gabriel Jesus was ruled out for a number of weeks following knee ligament damage sustained against Crystal Palace on New Year's Eve.

The Brazilian picked up the problem in the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and was forced off in tears.

The injury is a setback for the Premier League leaders who may now consider making an offer for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window rather than waiting until the Chile star is a free agent at the end of the season.

We wish Gabriel a speedy recovery and we will keep you updated on his progress via the Club's official channels. Pep Guardiola's side have been exceptional this season and will look to stay unbeaten here.

Jesus is delighted that he will not have to go undergo surgery but the Brazil international is expected to be out of action for at least a month.

Gabriel, 20, who left Selhurst Park on crutches, is likely to be sent to the Barcelona clinic of Ramon Cugat, the doctor who treated him when he suffered a fractured metatarsal last season.

"Ask the FA. It's a tradition, so I have to adapt", he told multiple English newspapers. If it is just a bad knock to... Journal Media does not control and is not responsible for the content of external websites.

The £28.6million signing from Palmeiras also managed to get in some recuperation at the same time as gaming - having zipped around a shopping centre in a mobility scooter while injured last year. This kind of thing I can give my opinion, but do you believe I am going to (get the authorities to) change something?
