Monster Hunter: World is shaping up to be a huge creature-crunching package, especially when you take this latest quote from director Yuya Tokuda into account.

In an interview with Germany's (via Google Translate), Tokuda stated that players can expect approximately 40-50 hours' worth of gameplay regarding the main narrative.

"I guess it will take about 40 to 50 hours, depending on the type of player, to complete the story", states Tokuda. Of course, a Monster Hunter game does not end at the story credits, and Hunters can continue to upgrade their weapons and armor.

On top of that, we'll also be able to enjoy weekly events that will come in the form of additional quests, and the developer is planning free updates after launch. We will also post weekly event quests and free updates that players can enjoy after the launch.

You can download and install the Monster Hunter World beta in preparation from today.

The design crew visited many areas of Australia, which heavily inspired the Ancient Forest and Wildspire Waste.

Monster Hunter World finally brings the long-running and well-loved handheld series into the frontroom, to the PS4 and Xbox One (and PC at a later date) with blockbuster production values to match.
