Drivers warned of dense fog as weather warning issued for Hampshire

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog for the East Midlands.

It will be mild and misty overnight with dense fog in places.

Earlier: There is a nationwide status orange fog warning in place today.

The warning is valid from midnight tonight right through to midnight on Monday evening.

Met Éireann said that dense fog will linger in some parts of the country through much of the day, giving rise to poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions.

It will be mainly dry and sunny today but becoming cloudy and boring later.

Met Office weather forecasters have predicted that Lincolnshire will be affected by heavy fog throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning. It's expected to become cloudy and tiresome later with temperatures ranging between 5 and 7 degrees. Patches of ice have also been reported around Wicklow Town and Carrick-on-Shannon.

Drivers are urged to take extra care on roads.
