Two police officers hit by vehicle in critical condition

They were returning to their police auto parked near the junction with Dog Lane in Brent Park when they were hit.

The PCs, a man and a woman, were returning to their marked police auto on the A406 near Brent Park in Neasden, north London, at 3.40am when the vehicle hit them.

The male officer sustained serious injuries, while his female colleague had several fractures and is in a serious but stable condition.

The officers are in a critical condition in hospital with their next of kin in attendance.

A male and female officer were struck by the white auto in the early hours of this morning on the busy A406 North Circular Road in Brent.

They were taken to hospital along with a female passenger in the auto, who was not seriously hurt.

The male driver, who is in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of risky driving and for failing to provide a breath specimen.

He remains in custody.
