Ed Sheeran's latest album should be filling a fair few Christmas stockings this year because it has shot back to #1 in the country.

Ed Sheeran is leading a three-way battle with Eminem and Wham for the 2017 Christmas Number 1 after 24 hours, OfficialCharts.com can confirm. Bookmakers William Hill have closed the betting on the Christmas Number One album.

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe's charity single which features Jason Manford and Imelda Staunton has come in at 37.

The song, penned by the late George Michael who died on Christmas Day past year, is the biggest-selling single to have never reached number one.

There are still six days to go so the competition is still open, with the victor announced at 5.45pm on OfficialCharts.com at on Friday 22 December after sales close on midnight 21 December.

Last Christmas by Wham! is at number three, the first time the beloved track has been in the top five since January 1985.

The countdown for the top spot kicked off on Friday and ends at midnight on Thursday December 21.

Camila Cabello's Havana and Rita Ora's Anywhere complete the top five singles this week, at number four and five respectively.
