The Philadelphia Eagles may be just fine with Nick Foles at QB

The 24-year-old Wentz, who was expected to be an NFL MVP candidate this season, underwent an MRI on Monday morning after suffering the knee injury in Sunday's 43-35 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles are 11-2, which is the best record in the NFC. For now, Eagles fans simply have to hope for the best when it comes to their beloved quarterback because without Wentz, who knows what to expect from this team on offense moving forward, as bad as that sounds to say.

Asked about Wentz's mood, Pederson said: "He's excited. I work with him every day so I'm dealing with that". He got off and hobbled about 30 feet to one of the team buses.

"I'm absolutely ready to go - need be", Foles said.

Wentz threw 33 touchdown passes and for nearly 3,300 yards this season, so there likely will be an adjustment in the Eagles' attack. "He was there congratulating and celebrating with everyone", Foles said. "I will come back stronger than ever". That ends up being the difference in the game. "We did that and they didn't, and so hats off to them". On Sunday, he dueled with Rams quarterback Jared Goff, the No. 1 pick in that draft. Foles will be the starter if Wentz will not be playing the rest of the season.

Goff threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns.

Foles doesn't need to match the athleticism of Wentz to be effective in an offense that runs a lot of RPOs, he just needs to be able to execute a couple of simple reads reliably and take advantage of the openings that those plays create.

The game ended on a insane play, when Philadelphia's Brandon Graham grabbed a lateral by Tavon Austin out of the air and scored what was ruled a 16-yard fumble return. The two men have since left the Rams, and now each is tasked with leading a new club as a backup quarterback who was forced to start due to injury.
