Eminem offering 'mom's spaghetti' in Detroit

Sure, but I'd still want to go. Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers III, announced the launch of the pop-up, part of a promotional push for his new album Revival, on Twitter. The album weighs in at 19 tracks and almost 78 minutes, which is as thick and dense as the heaps of Mom's Spaghetti being served this weekend at Em's pop-up shop at the Shelter in downtown Detroit. The rapper is even relying on an old favorite, mom's spaghetti. This is a pretty obvious reference to perhaps the most famous line Slim Shady ever rapped on the track "Lose Yourself". Mom's Spaghetti tasted like Prego, or Kraft, or my many lazy attempts at cooking.

The menu features two food items - Mom's Spaghetti (with or without meatballs) and a S'ghetti Sandwich, which was described as being "literally just spaghetti and cheese on bread" by one of several noodle wizards, all of whom donned uniforms with the official Mom's Spaghetti logo. Sunday it's planned to be open from noon to 5 p.m., local time.

If you're in or near Motor City, head to "Mom's Spaghetti" between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The three-day pop up can be found at Detroit venue The Shelter (below Saint Andrews Hall).

The restaurant will help promote the rapper's latest album 'Revival'.
