According to SAG Awards executive producer Kathy Connell, the decision to have all-female presenters is a response to the recent sexual abuse scandal that has rocked Hollywood, engulfing some of the most powerful actors and producers in the entertainment industry.

'Lady Bird, ' Greta Gerwig's solo directorial debut, is the New York Film Critics Circle's (NYFCC) choice for Best Picture of 2017.

Martin McDonaugh's "Three Billboards" led all films with four nominations, including best ensemble, and acting nods for McDormand, Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson.

Upset about those Golden Globes nominations?

The ceremony details were disclosed the same day that SAG announced the nominations for the 2018 awards.

The SAG Awards will air on TNT and TBS on January 21.

The SAG Awards are often said to have considerable sway over the Oscar race, since actors make up the largest branch of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

Many expect Hammer and Stuhlbarg to score twin supporting actor nominations at the Oscars for their empathetic and big-hearted performances in Call Me By Your Name, but neither man made the cut at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Steven Spielberg's Pentagon Papers drama "The Post" was shut out entirely, including its Globe-nominated stars, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. The SAG Awards exclusively honor performers in film and television over the past year.

Following its Golden Globes success, Guillermo del Toro's lush fable "The Shape of Water" will hope to continue its momentum. Both Lady Bird and Get Out have received universal praise all year - it's hard to find someone who hasn't been won over by these movies - and if SAG Awards history is any indication, either could win up winning best picture in March.

The news comes just hours after the Screen Actors Guild nominations were announced.

The award ceremony, set to take place in January, recognizes outstanding performances in both film and primetime television.

Kristen Bell has already been confirmed as the SAG Awards first-ever host and was quick to point out that it was regardless of her gender.
