Kyrie Irving had 33 points and the Boston Celtics held on for a 124-118 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.

Jaylen Brown scored 26 and Aaron Baynes added 17 points for Boston. "Given how hard it was for Morris to stay in the lineup in the first third of the season, they are not going to play that game anymore", Joshua Bateman said in his column for Hardwood Houdini. "Start to finish, we were solid", Plumlee said.

And how about this sign from a young team trying to grow into a playoff contender?

Starting guard Harris had 36 points and 6 assists and Jamal Murray added 28 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Nuggets, who fell to 15-13. But he was particularly forthcoming and thoughtful on a variety of topics after Wednesday's game.

Here's five immediate takeaways from the bounce back win. He and Daniel Theis were a team-leading plus-14 on the night. As our roster now stands, there's one position that I think I would fill the need, and if we had an injury somewhere else along the road, it would be some other position.

Last game it was Rodney Hood returning after a seven-game absence with left ankle soreness. Keeping him in front of me (is the biggest challenge). Al Horford paced Boston with 15 points, five assists and four rebounds. Yes, this is without scorer Gordon Hayward and I could just be looking for small things to criticize this team about even with the team winning, but there is logic behind my madness. "I didn't want to put Gary's night to waste". Denver went from a tie game to being down 10 points for most of the game until late in the third when they tied it up again. Those turnovers also helped fuel Boston's 18 fastbreak points. "I get a really good confidence going and just feel like every shot's going in". When the second unit came in, as has been the trend this season, the Nuggets energy was sucked out of the building and lost what the starters built in the beginning of the game. "And on top of that there's really nothing that's come up that we've really been thrilled with". "You take a lot of stuff for granted, and that's one of them". It wasn't so much we weren't getting the right shots; we were just missing them a lot of the time.

Get it? Like lobsters and Boston. "That's the essence of being on a team and being able to just be resilient and just not let anything else matter other than the moment that you're in".

All of that came in an offensive fiesta for the Celts, who shot 59.5 percent. Any team can beat any team. "But when one of us doesn't have it going, we always seem to pick it up". It's gonna happen. Who's gonna learn the quickest? "We really guarded the way we wanted to". That's what I saw when I was watching the film.

Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said the team is developing a plan for injured Marcus Morris that should allow him to play some games while he recovers from a bothersome left knee. The stands were (almost) full and the crowd was loud from the get-go, making it the best road environment I've been in thus far.
