Rakesh Sharma is a former Indian Air Force pilot who flew aboard Soyuz T-11, launched 2 April 1984, as part of the Intercosmos programme.

Khan who is now busy shooting for Yash Raj Films' Thugs of Hindostan, will be seen sharing the screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Dangal co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh. As such, it's now emerged that Shah Rukh Khan could be his replacement in the project. With creative inputs from Kapil Sharma (not the comedian) the filmmakers son, the project was supposed to be helmed by Priyanka Chopra as Rakesh Sharma's wife and Aamir Khan playing the astronaut. "#Asksrk" he replied, "I haven't signed any new film...yet except @aanandlrai film".

Says a very reliable source, "Yash Raj Films' Thugs Of Hindostan will be AamirKhan's last outside film. For the next ten years Aamir will now devote his entire attention to a franchise product which will stretch into several films, all produced by and starringAamir Khan and some of them also directed by Aamir". It's not the script or the budget of the astronaut's biopic, to be produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur that's the problem. It was a 2018 release.

But, Aamir did not like the final script and being the perfectionist that he is, the actor said no to the role. Everybody knows that his script sense is brilliant so in that form, so if he does not like a script there has to be something wrong with it. The reason being cited is Aamir Khan's creative differences with the film's crew.
