The reports come on the basis of leaked firmware files supposedly of the Huawei P11. It is also said to have an nearly bezel-less screen plus a style notch similar to the Essential Phone and the iPhone X. This image had a notch on top, smaller than that of the iPhone X, but bigger than the one present in the Essential Phone. An overlay image was sighted, showing some rounder corners while related files were also discovered.

Beyond that, some of these files explicitly reference the term "notch", that applies to system properties for the top, left, right, and bottom of the display.

Having said that, Huawei had introduced its flagship Mate 10 series of smartphones back in October, and its P-series of devices is expected to drop in the next couple of months. But it seems that copying the design of Apple's latest and greatest flagship is not only reserved for China's more obscure brands.

It has been also found that through a configuration file that the smartphone features a 6.01-inch Samsung EA8074 CMD TFT LCD panel that carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The boot animations have revealed the expected resolution of the phone to be 2244 x 1080. The alleged Huawei P11 will have such a screen resolution due to the presence of a notch.

Unlike Huawei's existing premium phones that run on EMUI 8.0.0, the Huawei P11 could be running on Android 8.0 Oreo with an upgraded EMUI version 8.0.1. It is speculated that the P11 would be powered by the Kirin 970 chipset that fuels other flagship phones like Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Honor V10.
