Police respond to report of shooting at New Mexico high school

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook that parents should pick up students at the police department.

Numbers of the injured have not been confirmed, but Bloomfield Police Departmented said there had been a "shooting".

The nearby city of Bloomfield has placed its schools on lockdown as a precautionary measure and is asking parents stay away until further notice.

KRQE reported the suspect was in custody.

Authorities swarmed a high school Thursday in Aztec, New Mexico, after a report of an active shooter.

Aztec High School is located at 500 E Chaco Street, in Aztec, New Mexico.

San Juan County Sheriffs confirm other schools in the area are on lockdown.

"Aztec High School is locked down and being evacuated".
