Dying Light To Get Stand Alone PvP Mode

Fans have been requesting a PvP mode and given the popularity of Fortnite and PUBG you can't blame Techland for jumping on the bandwagon.

Zombie kill 'em up Dying Light gets a Battle Royale-inspired standalone PvP expansion called Bad Blood next year.

"Our aim is both to satisfy players' demands for competitive PvP gameplay and to explore new directions for Dying Light's multiplayer experience", said Tymon Smektala, Producer at Techland. Today, the developer announced the game's second expansion, Bad Blood, but unlike before, this one will be standalone and multiplayer-focused, pitting players against each other. Dying Light: Bad Blood is due out in 2018.

Dying Light has new life once again! The playtest will only be available for PC users on Steam. In order to pay for the escape, players will need to harvest blood samples from the infected.

Six players will be dropped into a zombie-infested area with the goal of evacuating on an extraction helicopter before the sun goes down.

You can sign up to participate in its global playtest before its expected launch here. Use your parkour skills to swiftly traverse the city, scavenging for weapons that will give you an edge over your opponents. Thus, you may have to take out your own allies to ensure you have enough harvested blood and a seat on the evac vehicle. And this is where things get messy: though players will often have to team up to defeat bosses, they can just as easily turn on each other to steal their samples and prevent them from evacuating once the chopper arrives. In a cruel set-up where everyone fights for the survival of the few, betrayal is not a question of "if", but "when".

The only way out is the extraction chopper, but nobody rides for free, apparently.
