Dom Hoffman teases Vine 2

With almost 200 million active monthly users at one point, we can't imagine it was too easy on the founder Dom Hofmann either.

V2? We're going to go ahead and just call it Vine 2. Now, Hoffman has teased the project's logo on Twitter.

Vine still exists online so that users can continue to watch previous posts, but no new videos can be uploaded. Fan reactions were quick and very emotional as an outpouring of gratitude was seen all over social media. It enjoyed its fair share of popularity among young people on the platform, but it was progressively phased out until its discontinuation earlier this year.

Hofmann's image comes about a week after a string of tweets in which he discussed working on a follow-up to VIne. Or Vine 2 Return Of The Vine.

Little is known about Mr Hofman's Interspace venture, but his Vine co-founders Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll have found success with online gaming app HQ Trivia, which pits players against each other in live quizzes to compete for cash.

When Vine died, a major part of a lot of people went with it. All we know now is that Dom is entirely funding the new version of Vine himself and is in entire control of the creative process.

Some have expressed that they would like this model to change, or at least be more explicit or transparent like it is now on Instagram with their influencers.

The video app which exploded as a popular social media platform, with cross pollination all over the internet, is coming back.
