Derrick Rose apologizes to Cavaliers

"He didn't have to, but he did", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said.

While in retrospect, having Rose back to help add some depth to the depleted frontcourt seems like a good idea, there is speculation that it would be best if he did not return at all.

The three-time defending Eastern Conference champions anticipated using Rose as a backup to Isaiah Thomas.

Dwyane Wade has been a starter for the majority of his 15-year National Basketball Association career, but the star guard fully is embracing his new role with his new team. We just hope that we can be his support system.

"We're where we want to be today and that's all we can focus on", LeBron James said.

Although Rose is averaging 14.3 points per game, the Cavaliers have reeled off their 12-game win streak without him and have performed better when Rose has been off the court.

The move has paid off, as Wade is averaging 12.9 points per game on 48 percent shooting since taking on a reserve role October 24.

While Cleveland hasn't messed with its starting lineup amid the streak, a change likely is on the horizon, as Isaiah Thomas is expected to return to action towards the middle of the month.

"We're happy that he's not giving up on his love at this point in his life and his career and he's ready to return".

Sacramento's top scorer this season is Zach Randolph (13.9 points per game), who came off the bench for the first time this year in the Kings' last game - a 109-104 loss to Milwaukee on Saturday. Only Chicago is worse. That may be the case though, but James and company know that no team in the league is a pushover, and they should still play at their best.

"Just going through his rehab now, trying to get healthy", Lue said. Sometimes you need to get away.

The Kings beat the Cavs, 116-112 in overtime on January 25 in Cleveland.
