Xiaomi Redmi 5A has received more than one million registrations across Mi.com and Flipkart, ahead of its first sale on December 7. The phones have been subjected to various leaks recently. Nearly every other day we are seeing some new info (not necessarily all accurate) about it, including some official teasers.

The new smartphone, priced at Rs 4,999, comes with a metallic matte finish and has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion, Xiaomi Regional Business Head South and East, Sunil Baby told reporters. Both the phones will be made available in four colour variants - Black, Blue, Gold and Pink. However, the seller's connection with the actual company Xiaomi is not verified. The company has, however, not revealed the price of the smartphones yet. Both the phones will look identical, and will only differ in the display size with the Redmi 5 Plus being the larger of the two. The key specifications of the two handsets had been leaked previously, and official teasers have revealed the design language they will follow, with the bezel-less design and 18:9 aspect ratio front and centre. It is reported to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with 3GB RAM. The smartphone is expected to sport a dual rear camera setup, which could be a combination of a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras. Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based MIUI 9, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be backed up by a 4,000mAh battery.

The Xiaomi device should be launch in three different storage options, which includes 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and also with 4GB RAM variant supporting 64GB internal storage.

Like the Redmi 5, the Redmi 5 Plus is also expected to bear a 5-megapixel sensor up front with LED Flash and a 12-megapixel rear camera.
