Five years after country music star Randy Travis was arrested for a DWI, the Texas Department of Public Safety has released police dashcam video showing him naked and ranting in police custody after a lengthy court battle over its release.

The three-hour tape shows a naked Travis, now 58, hobbling along while he is escorted in handcuffs to the police auto, while footage from the car's dashboard camera shows him threatening to kill the cop, saying, "You will die motherf-er".

"I want to prepare you for something".

Travis reportedly declined when the paramedics offered to take him to the hospital.

"I pray to God that he will have a cancerous growth that infects his bones and every part of his body", he said. "Yes, it is." Troopers said his blood alcohol was twice the legal limit. He was later sentenced to probation and rehab.

Another portion of the clip shows Travis ranting while sitting in the passenger's seat of the auto.

The country singer, 58, was memorably busted for drunken driving in 2012, after crashing his Pontiac Trans Am in Tioga, Texas.

In the video, a black eye and an abrasion on Travis' forehead are apparent, but the singer refused transport and treatment by an emergency medical team that night.

Travis: "You think I'm lying to you, just check me out". And I'm proud of my d-, it's bigger than most, but you insulted me.

Since his arrest in 2012, Mr. Travis has been recovering from a life-threatening stroke he suffered in July 2013.

The lawsuit said the footage, which according to legal records show him nude and disorientated and making threats to the officers, were highly embarrassing and intimate and inappropriate to release in light of the fact that Travis "can no longer speak cogently and is not even in the position to discuss, let alone defend, his previous actions". A man of integrity with a good heart, Randy does not and will never condone these types of actions that distort the true beliefs of Randy Travis and his entire family.
