Kate Middleton was seen sporting the sparkly headpiece as she and her husband, Prince William, arrived at the annual diplomatic reception yesterday evening.

Kate wore the same tiara to the 2016 reception with a red Jenny Packham gown.

Kate Middleton often likes to honour her late mother-in-law through the jewellery and the clothes that she wears.

The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out on Tuesday night for Queen Elizabeth's annual reception for members of the Diplomatic Corps at Buckingham Palace wearing one of Princess Diana's favorite tiaras.

While we couldn't get a proper glimpse of this year's dress, it looks to be white and covered in bling, perhaps to match her jewellery.

The tiara, also referred to as the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara, is one of the oldest royal jewels and was first commissioned by Queen Mary, the Court Jeweller reported.

Kate Middleton was recently spotted wearing one of Princess Diana's favorite tiaras. She sacrificed a tiara from her own jewelry collection to make it. Mary passed the tiara to Queen Elizabeth II when she died in 1953.

The original Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara was sold at auction at Christie's in Geneva in May 1981, for more than £555,693 in today's pounds, to an anonymous buyer.

The tiara was one of the two that Diana was photographed wearing on her head.
