Inter deny Real Madrid contact over Icardi

Inter have no reason to fear losing Mauro Icardi to Real Madrid in the near future as his commitment to the Italian club is clear, sporting director Piero Ausilio says.

The Argentine striker has been in remarkable form for the Nerazzurri this season, netting 16 goals in 15 Serie A appearances leading to speculation Los Blancos could trigger his €110m release clause.

The agent and wife of Mauro Icardi, Wanda Nara, believes the player is one of the best strikers in the world.

"I don't have words to describe this moment", Icardi wrote.

On Saturday, Icardi will lead Inter against six-time defending champion Juventus in Serie A. We'll go to the Allianz to play a serious game.

"The group is our strength".

Icardi, who has been at Inter since 2013, has extended his contract until 2021.

"Icardi to Madrid? There's no need to convince him into staying at Inter, he has a long contract here and his will is very clear". "He has a lengthy contract, but what matters more is his desire".

Beyond the fact that this supposed "betrayal" involved a player (Maxi Lopez) who wasn't even close with Icardi, or that it is frankly ridiculous that we are still trying to judge some people in modern times while letting others (Ryan Giggs for example) completely off the hook, two things sticks out: that none of this is really any of our business anyway, and we've let all of this colour our judgement of the man far too much.

The offense has been faulted, with only six goals scored between Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in the league this season.

"Real Madrid haven't contacted us, but it would be their job to convince Mauro to leave a project like ours in which he is the protagonist". He was sold to Borussia Monchengladbach for €8m (£7.06m) in February 2015 but the Blues scouting team have been constantly watching his progress.
