It took Amazon long enough, but the Prime Video tvOS app for Apple TV is finally available for download on Apple's media streaming box.

Earlier this year it was suggested that Amazon Prime Video could be coming to the Apple TV in the form of its own app.

The move will appeal to Apple TV owners, who now have access to more content. The company kept its Prime Video service away from the Apple TV, refusing to sell Apple's device in its online store. However, since it has been mentioned in the latest version of the iOS app, it's safe to assume that the Cupertino giant has pushed out the streaming service for its Apple TV. The main reason why the outlet chose to stop selling the set-top-box was due to it not being capable of running Prime Video because if someone bought the box on Amazon, they'd think it could stream Prime video content and they'd be disappointed.

The app doesn't appear to be promoted on the Apple TV's home screen just yet, but can be found by searching through the App Store. Prime Video comes bundled with Amazon Prime, and users can join both for a yearly subscription of Rs 999.

Other big Amazon TV show exclusives include Mr Robot, Transgender and the excellent Vikings will also returns for a brand new season very soon.
