Morocco will start their games at the tournament against Iran, the first Asian team to secure a qualification to the World Cup.

The 2010 World Cup winners Spain were placed in the same group as Cristiano Ronaldo's European Champions Portugal in an exciting draw for the 2018 tournament in Russian Federation on Friday.

Lopetegui's side face Euro 2016 winners Portugal in their first game in Sochi on June 15, with Fernando Santos' side spearheaded by Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

"It's a very deceptive and treacherous group".

Croatia, debutants Iceland, and Nigeria will all fancy their chances of joining favourites Argentina in the knockout phase from Group D. It is the fifth time Nigeria have been grouped with Argentina in their six World Cups.

"Without a doubt, Spain and Portugal are favorites, but only on paper". It will not be easy to beat Iran and my players will try to do their best.

MOSCOW, Iran national football team coach Carlos Queiroz says there are times when mouse escapes from cat.

"Iran has experience and the coach is also one of the most experienced in this World Cup". The Seleção played Spain more recently, losing 1-0 in South Africa in 2010, when the Spaniards went on to lift the trophy. As Iran coach, my goal is to make it hard for both, as well as Morocco. "This shows the strength of the team, there are players who have already played in Portugal, (Mehdi) Benatia who played for Juventus, and the quality of the coach", he concluded.
