Xiaomi Mi A1 starts receiving Android Security Update for November

Xiaomi Mi A1, the Android One smartphone from the company that went official in September is receiving a new software update.

In case your OTA update size is more, as some users are getting up to 1GB, it is equally important to download and instal as it includes all the previous security patches and fixes that the Mi A1 did not have in the past. The new update is bundled with the latest November security patch to the Xiaomi's Android One smartphone. Being an Android One phone, the update should have come earlier as even Samsung is delivering bug fixes for November by now.

One of the major benefits of the Android One platform is that the devices running it will get the software updates before others.

But if you're disappointed the Mi A1 hasn't received the Android Oreo update yet, it is likely to happen by the end of December. There are conflicting reports regarding the size of the software update.

It is expected that the company will roll out Android 8.0 Oreo update by next month. The Android in an operating system designed by Google that comes with stock Android experience without any possible modification.

To recall, the Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection on top. Xiaomi will be the next company to set its sights on Oreo, with the Chinese giants set to launch its own beta testing program for its flagship Mi 6. Under the hood of the smartphone runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 506 GPU. There is also a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. This combination is complemented by 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The device is backed by a 3080mAh battery that supports fast charging and is priced at Rs 14,999.
