Kezia continued: "First and foremost, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is a huge UK-wide television programme, with an audience into the millions". I thought there was absolutely no way I would do it, as it would be the end of my political career.

"I know there will be people that are upset about it, that will question my priorities, so I wanted to take a little minute to explain why I'm doing this and hope that I can get your support for the adventures ahead".

You'll know him from presenting The Late Night Alternative with Iain Lee from 10pm-1am on weekdays, a show for which he was named Best Speech Presenter at the Audio Radio Industry Awards this year.

"So the minute that I leave Australia, I'll be coming back to the Scottish Parliament to do my job as a Labour MSP for Edinburgh and the Lothians and I'm committed to doing that for the long term and I hope to stand at the next election again as well".

KEZIA Dugdale has revealed that the death of her best friend earlier this year inspired her to join I'm A Celeb.

After a couple of days of happy families and a shock departure by Jack Maynard, we were all very much looking forward to seeing who'd be joining the I'm A Celebrity camp.

She admitted her political rivals will enjoy watching her taking on some of the more gruesome challenges such as eating kangaroo testicles, adding: "There are lots of people who are critical of the decision I've taken to do this who will enjoy the experience of me doing humiliating and hard tasks". I will be the worker who mucks in with everything.

"I am used to dealing with rats and snakes but I've never had to deal with creepy crawlies before", she says.

"I ran upstairs when I saw a spider the other day and I've got a big fear of birds that stems from when I saw a scary picture of a pigeon as a toddler".

She isn't sure how she is going to cope on a basic diet either. "I am a happy-go-lucky type of person but take the caffeine and the food away and I am a bit anxious about unleashing a monster in me!"

She has no intentions of becoming a full time TV star upon leaving the jungle, and aims to continue as an MSP for Lothian. "It's what I love doing". I will be back in time to vote in the Budget and I will face my constituents then. I am 44, my kids are seven and five and they haven't really seen me on the telly.

The fearless celebrities entering the terrifying and legendary jungle camp will find themselves cut off from the outside world and praying the public doesn't send them straight into a dreaded Bushtucker Trial.
