Disney Debuts Magical New Trailer For A Wrinkle In Time

Traveling 91 billion light years has never looked so surreal and fantastic.

As the trailer reveals, Meg - who will soon be called a "warrior" by the voice of Oprah - starts out as an underachiever and a troublemaker.

Even though Ava DuVernay's name isn't seen until the end of the new trailer for her reimagining of "A Wrinkle in Time", it clearly exemplifies female empowerment.

The trailer previews the dazzling but perilous interplanetary journey undertaken by Meg, Cal, and Meg's brother Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe) in order to locate and rescue her father. This isn't the first live-action adaptation the book has received; a made-for-TV movie starring Gregory Smith and Chris Potter was released in 2003.

No doubt those words mean a lot to Reid, who previously told Entertainment Weekly, "It's just surreal because I get to empower other little African-American girls around the world and say that you can be a superhero and you rock and you can conquer the world and you are handsome just the way you are and your flaws are nothing and you're awesome". A teaser trailer was released back in July.

"So you fall through space", questions her friend Calvin. Who, and Mrs. Which dramatically explain that he's trapped by an evil energy, "and the only one who can stop it is you".

A Wrinkle in Time is scheduled to hit theaters on March 9th, 2018. Who and Mrs. Which, the children courageous a unsafe journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe.
