On Thursday, Gigi Hadid disappointed fans when she announced that she would no longer be walking in the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai, China.

While she gives exactly zero explanation as to the reason behind her not being able to "make it", many commenters believe it is related to backlash over an Instagram video posted on Bella's account which showed Gigi imitating Buddha by squinting her eyes. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!

Hadid revealed in a Twitter post that she wouldn't be attending the show later this month, but didn't mention the controversy.

Gigi Hadid has pulled out of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Many saw it as "racist", however, Gigi apologized profusely for offending anyone. "May this be a lesson for her. Apologies doesnt erase the actions [sic]".

It hurts me to hurt anyone, and I want you all to know that it was never my intent to offend anyone through my actions and I sincerely apologise to those who were hurt or felt let down by me.

Hundreds of furious Chinese people told the 22-year-old she "wasn't welcome" in the city when the lingerie brand hosted it's annual show there, and now the star has pulled out of her appearance.

On Nov. 14, Fashionista reported that three beauties from Russian Federation and one from Ukraine were not allowed to enter the country due to visa issues: Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova from Russian Federation, in addition to Dasha Khlystun from Ukraine. However, Angel dreams will not be coming true for four models who were allegedly denied entry to Shanghai, China, where the event is set to to take place.
