Rose was linked with a move away from Tottenham back in August when he publicly questioned Spurs' ambitions and he has only made one Premier League appearance so far this season.

After recently returning from injury, Rose was expected to be a part of Pochettino's plans, but he didn't even make the 18-man squad.

A source speaking to The Sun, said: "It is not secret that Jose likes Rose".

"He could prove hard to get though as Tottenham do not like dealing with United".

At the time the defender was absent with a knee injury and Ben Davies filled his role admirably, although the England global has recently returned and made three appearances in all competitions.

"He's all about the team and the ones that want to be in the team are with him, and the ones that are not he will push aside". I don't know exactly when but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere. "I'm not saying I want out, but if something came to me that was concrete, I'd have no qualms about voicing my opinions to anyone at the club".

Rose has set his heart on leaving Tottenham for Old Trafford ahead of the World Cup in Russian Federation.

Also, the prospect of Luke Shaw coming the other way in a potential cut-price deal having been ostracised at Old Trafford by manager Jose Mourinho, as has been rumoured, could add to the case for Levy making an exception in this scenario.

This being said, Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the England worldwide but his absence from the Tottenham squad didn't go unnoticed.
