Paul Pogba was named in Manchester United's starting XI to face Newcastle United on his return from injury on Saturday, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo on the bench. Pogba then increased the advantage and Romelu Lukaku made victory certain by ending his seven-game goal drought.

Defender Marcos Rojo is also available and manager Jose Mourinho said, "all three will be selected".

Asked about Pogba, the Portuguese said in a press conference: "Paul you can see that there was, and now I can speak because he's back, but you can clearly see Manchester United this season before Paul's injury and after Paul's injury".

"There are qualities in our football that influence our approach in matches, with Pogba and without Pogba, that's as simple as that".

"(We have) learned how to play without him. We were saying all along that he will back in 2017 but being back on December 31 is one thing but to be back in mid-November is another.

The 24-year-old came back to appear in 30 games last year with the team, scoring five goals overall, before having already netted a pair of goals in the four games he has appeared in this season.

"He's shown incredible personality to fight such an important injury".

"As an injured player he has been the same super pro that he is when he's fit".

"This feels special", Ibrahimovic told BT Sport. The season is very long, it is not about now, it is about the end. "It hurts when you are not playing, you want to help the team, but you just have to do your recovery". "I am not anxious at all because I know what I can do".
