Amnesia developer Frictional Games" superb existential sea horror SOMA is coming to Xbox One on December 1st, and it'll include a new monster-free "Safe Mode'. You'll soon have an option that will make the frightening fiends a thing of the past.

SOMA will be making its way to Xbox One, two years after the game's release on PS4 and PC, on 1st December 2017 for $29.99/£23.99.

When SOMA makes its console debut on Xbox One next month, the game is doing so with one noticeable (and optional) addition.

The mode will also be out for PC on the same day, with the PlayStation 4 update arriving later. The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they're people.

Safe Mode, in Frictional's words, will permit you to "explore the story without being eaten by monsters”".

The world of SOMA contains horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. You either have to outsmart enemies or run from them.
