Manson is now serving nine consecutive life sentences for masterminding the gruesome Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969.

Incarcerated cult leader Charles Manson was recently hospitalized and may be near death, but officials are citing medical privacy rules and not announcing his condition.

Charles Manson is in the hospital and, as one source familiar with his situation tells TMZ, "it's not going to get any better for him".

Vicky Waters, a spokeswoman with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, said the department would only say that Manson was still living but could not provide any further details.

The 83-year-old Manson, who lays still covered in blankets, looks ashen, according to the report. She was stabbed 16 times by cult members. The group was convicted of murder and sentenced to death. In the summer of 1969, he directed his mostly young, female followers to murder seven people in what prosecutors said was part of a plan to incite a race war.

Manson, 83, is now hospitalized at a Bakersfield, Calif., hospital but his condition is unclear, the on Thursday. on the serial killer's condition on Wednesday.
