The theft apparently happened on November 5, when a person took the restaurant's Chick-fil-A-branded white van from its parking lot.

5, someone stole a catering van from the Chick-fil-A's parking lot at around 9:45 p.m., the restaurant said.

A Georgia Chick-fil-A restaurant is pleading with the public for information concerning the theft of one of their catering vans.

The eatery posted security camera photos of the man to its Facebook page and offered free food for a year to anyone who can identify the suspect.

According to police, a homeowner found the van sitting outside his residence several days later, where it had crashed into his vehicle. It was abandoned in a residential neighborhood and had "considerable damage", police told 11 Alive.

The restaurant's Facebook post sparked an outpouring of sympathy from customers.

Representatives of the Cartersville Chick-fil-A had no comment on the reward as of Friday morning.
