Taylor Swift's "Reputation" Now Pacing For 1.30-1.34 Million US Sales

Taylor Swift is going to bring her new album to life when she hits the road next year. In doing so, it became the fourth consecutive Swift album to sell over 1 million copies during its opening week.

"I don't want you like a best friend / Only bought this dress so you could take it off, take it off", Taylor sings on the track in question. This belief was crystallized very early on: It was reported that after only an hour of being available on iTunes, the album sold over 800,000 copies.

While Swift's numbers are impressive, they are dwarfed by the biggest debut in music history: Adele's "25" sold 2.3 million copies in its first three days before ending its first week with 3.3 million copies sold in 2015. Adele also initially kept "25" from streaming services.

Swift's 1.05 million USA sales of "Reputation" came despite the singer keeping the album from streaming services and gave her the best-selling album of 2017. Her latest album Reputation is full of songs that are about, depending on the track and what theory you believe, Kanye West, Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, and Joe Alwyn.

Her previous opening week high came courtesy 2014's "1989", which sold 1.287 million United States copies in its first week.
