There are other methods for getting Amazon's voice assistant in your auto, including first-party support from some manufacturers, but also via accessories like the Garmin Speak with Alexa, which became available just last month.

As you can see, Muse is a small, Bluetooth-enabled device that attaches to your center console like an air freshener. You now have a few options, including a new $49.99 accessory from voice tech company Speak Music, which is launching Muse, essentially a Bluetooth-enabled Amazon Echo for the vehicle. With built-in, hands-free wake word detection, you can simply say "Alexa" to activate the voice service and safely experience almost all of Alexa's functionalities from behind the wheel.

It's a new Alexa device that allows you to access your music using Alexa.

Muse also lets you control your smart home from the auto. The device also allows you to interact with your Alexa-powered devices at home, giving you the power to open and close garage doors, turn on porch lights, or adjust your thermostat. Check the weather, stock quotes, sports scores, manage your to-do's and stay productive while in your auto. All you need is an iPhone or Android device with a data plan, as well as an audio input if you don't plan on using Bluetooth to connect Muse to your vehicle.

On many newer cars, the company says the device will integrate with multimedia systems to display album art and weather images, in addition to working with steering wheel controls.

"We are incredibly excited to bring Muse with Amazon Alexa to cars", said Zak Mandhro, Co-Founder & CTO of Speak Music.

Another technology company is aiming to bring Amazon's Alexa into the auto.

Speak Music is redefining the consumer audio experience-with Muse Powered by Alexa, the first pure automotive voice-assistant powered by natural language processing and AI.

Muse uses your smartphone's data connection to connect to the Alexa service, which in turn provides you the ability to stream music, listen to live streaming radio stations, command your smart home gadgets while you're away or even make hands-free calls. In 2017 Speak Music launched Melody, the voice-controlled audio entertainment solution that was embedded into over one million Bluetooth headphones, alarm clocks and speakers.
