Empire star Taraji P. Henson is set to headline What Men Want, a gender-flipped remake of the 2000 Mel Gibson comedy What Women Want.

The original pic was directed by Nancy Meyers and starred Mel Gibson as a NY ad exec who, after a freak accident, is able to read women's minds and uses the new ability to move ahead both professionally and personally. Henson will reportedly play a sports agent who, like other women in her field, is a victim of the industry's systematic sexism and misogyny. So when she somehow acquires the ability to hear men's thoughts (we can only imagine what those thoughts will be), she uses it as a way to get the next big National Basketball Association star on her roster.

Meyers' original starred Mel Gibson as a chauvinistic ad executive who gains the ability to hear what women are thinking after a fluke accident.

The film will be produced by Will Packer and James Lopez and Henson will executive produced.

The movie has already slated a January 11, 2019, release date.

Henson now stars on the Fox hit series Empire.

Henson, who last starred in Hidden Figures, is repped by UTA and manager Vincent Cirrincione. She'll next be seen on the big screen in Proud Mary, an action-thriller that serves as a throwback to the classic Blaxploitation era.
