To-play FPS Warface is getting a Battle Royale mode

Crytek says the mode itself is somewhat of an open-test in this first form; it'll only be available for a limited time but will return in the future after the developer can chew through player feedback and fine-tune the game mode. Gamers can choose to play as Riflemen, Medics, Snipers or Engineers as they work together and attempt to uproot the Blackwood military faction in Co-op play, or choose their side and lock horns with fellow players in versus battles.

"Soldier, this is by far the toughest challenge of the year - the new game mode will require you to be always on the ready, it's Battle Royale".

Crytek is looking to bring this new mode to Warface in beta form as part of the next major update.

The game mode takes after the most classic scenario: each man for himself.

Crytek detailed the map in its latest blog post, explaining some of the features the new game mode might include, such as a play space that will close in on players after being randomly decided at the start of the match, loot drops, and more. Like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Warface's Battle Royale will drop its players into a large open map with a slowly shirking "safe-zone" marking the play area.

Plenty of achievements to unlock!

Don't get too close...

If you saw the name Warface and thought "that looks familiar", you might be one of the many console players who tried the game during its short lived and ill-fated run on the Xbox 360.

Don't miss the grandest battle of 2017!
