Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip were at his side, accompanied by prince Charles and his wife Camila Parker-Bowles, and the First minister Theresa Mayet her husband, Philip May. The royal dad was on official duty at a rugby match in Cardiff, Wales, so he couldn't be at the annual event.

Pregnant Kate Middleton took her respectful spot alongside the The Queen for Remembrance Day at White Hall's The Cenotaph.

The pregnant royal, who is expecting her third baby with Prince William, accessorised with a pair of £140 Oscar de la Renta gold-plated sun earrings, which she has previously worn during a tour of Germany over the summer. Tonight, singers Emeli Sande, Tom Odell, Melanie C, Alfie Boe and Lesley Garrett are due to perform alongside The Queen's Colour Squadron and The Band of HM Royal Marines, all honouring those who have lost their lives in conflict.

The Duchess of Cambridge unveiled a new look on Sunday, swapping her trademark Chelsea blow-dry for an equally elegant hairstyle.

Prince William and Prince Harry also played roles in the ceremony as they gathered with veterans and politicians for the two minute silence. On Sunday, the country will take part in the Sunday Remembrance service. Instead, she has passed the responsibility off to son and heir Prince Charles.

Now is as good a time as any to revisit that event, at which Kate broke out one of her most iconic looks: the delicacy of a fairytale Marchesa gown in dusky rose balanced by a massive ruby-encrusted necklace and the sheer symbolism of the famous Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara.
