Along with Rajiv Jadav's Nude and Sanal Kumar's S Durga, 24 other films were set to be screened under the Indian Panorama Section. This has now led to Sujoy Ghosh quitting from the post. S Durga and Marathi film Nude were recommended for screening by a 13-member IFFI jury, but were reportedly removed from the list by the ministry. Jadhav also plans to write to the ministry, too for Nude being removed from the list of films to be screened at IFFI. Soon after, the I&B Ministry announced the list of feature and non feature Indian films to be a part of the prestigious film festival. Clearly, the information and broadcasting ministry does not agree with these sentiments expressed by SK Sasidharan, whose film Sexy Durga, modestly renamed S Durga, has been knocked out off the Goa film festival.

He said he is in shock and has not received any letter from the ministry about why "S Durga" did not make the cut. The film exposes the reality of a misogynistic society and captures various encounters of a couple running away in the night. The makers of the movie were also forced to have 21 audio mutes by the board. S Durga's director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan and Ravi Jadhav have expressed shock after the film was dropped from the list and stated that he has sent an email to the ministry asking about the removal of the film.

Several Iranian films on homosexuality, a topic which is considered off limits in the country, such as Be Like Others and Circumstances, have made it big at global films festivals like Sundance. The movie explores the life and conflicts of a nude model at an art school.

Filmmakers Sanal Sasidharan and Ravi Jadhav have expressed their disappointment because of I&B Ministry's decision and Sasidharan has alleged that the list was delayed on goal. The movie has already been screened at some global film festivals and has also won a few awards while Nude is a Marathi film, which has been written and directed by Ravi Jadhav.

While, Nude is a Marathi movie by National Award winning director Ravi Jadhav. "But I will file a case in the Kochi High Court", Sasidharan said.

"Give me some reason at least". It was a big honour.

"It's something we've never heard of", he said. "Nobody informed me about the decision".
